Meningitis B Vaccine

We are aware of concerns about a potential Meningitis B outbreak; however, we have not received updated guidance from NHS England.

The MenB vaccine is only routinely available to infants as part of the NHS schedule and is not offered to children over 1 year old.

Exception:
If you have received a letter from NHS England advising vaccination:

  • You may be eligible
  • You must bring the letter to your appointment
  • The nurse must verify this before the vaccine can be given

We are unable to provide the vaccine outside of this guidance.

Patient Participation Group

We have formed a patient group in 2011 which is to give the patients the opportunity to discuss topics of mutual interest in our practice. The group comprises of the practice manager and a mix of patients who have offered to serve in the group. The group is representative of different ages, sexes and ethnic makeup of the surgery.

Their aim is to provide the means for patients to make positive suggestions about their own healthcare and the practice. They act as a representative group that can be available to influence local health and social care.

We hope that there will be positive suggestions from the group about the practice and patients own healthcare.

We had a joint meeting in 2019 with Alexandra Road Surgery to explain to our members that we are now part of a PCN and will be working together. Covid hit us and we were unable to meet, we had a meeting last year to discuss going forward and enrolling more patients into our group.

We have since then met at Wimbledon Village Surgery on 6th February 2023 as they are also in our PCN group and working with us.

If you would be interested in joining the group please contact the practice manager Sandra Clapham at the surgery or fill out the registration form online.
